    Avatar: The Last Airbender

    I believe I first caught this series during the middle of its first season (i.e., Book One) when it aired right before or after Danny Phantom. It is surprisingly complex and well-written for a children's show, with a lot more layers and developing series mythology than is usual. That along with the fantasy elements of "bending" were very intriguing and I managed to catch most of earlier episodes to catch up and by season end, as one might expect, found myself a fan. And as usual, some part of me is always looking for a couple to 'ship. Oddly -- or maybe not so oddly as I've found -- I grew to like the idea of Katara and Zuko (another broody guy with a sword!), who I think is redeemable and getting more so with every second season episode. Especially in light of his sister (wonderfully and wickedly portrayed by a fave voice actress of mine, Grey Delisle) coming onto the scene as someone who is pretty much *not* redeemable. And the second season finale?...Argh... But then...*Then* the mid-third season two-parter, The Day of Black Sun...yay!

    The Black Skies Saga by Masako Moonshade -- A trilogy of stories with a Zuko/Katara focus with drama, action, and all the good character stuff I adore so much. (1) Drawn to the Blackened Skies: After the escape from pirates Katara finds herself face to face with an unlikely guest with an unusual offer; (2) Everything for a Price: Katara is in dire need, and she is willing to take help wherever she can find it. Zuko can help, but he asks for an unusual exchange; (3) Worth Fighting For: Hope for a future faces new trials as old enemies and new threats arise Zuko must face his inner demons, while Katara confronts a murderer.     Cast Me Gently into Morning by OveractiveImagination39 -- Katara heals Zuko's body but it will be another who will heal his soul and show him the path to his true destiny. As Zuko begins to change can he convince Katara to trust him again to maybe even love him? Hmm... intriguing and nicely done. But it's very nice to see a mature Zuko and Katara that don't snipe at each other quite as much as in most fics. Found at the Avatar, the Last Airbender fanfiction.net section.

    Dangerous Ground by wilderness-writer -- Zuko/Katara. Zuko is a prisoner of our little band of heroes, and now Katara must face a battle between hatred for the enemy of her people and loyalty to their merciful ways. Starts off a little slow, but quickly turns into a *very* excellent fic. I loved the slowly growing attraction and the fact that insults turn into affectionate teasing. Lovely, lovely.     A Devil's Deal by yanocchi -- Zuko is forced to choose between two evils. Sad, angsty, powerfully written. Found at the Avatar, the Last Airbender fanfiction.net section.

    Don't Be Afraid by TheEyeoftheTiger -- Zuko/Katara. The Blue Spirit finds that a particular waterbender turns out to be a rather helpful ally. Very nice. Found at the Avatar, the Last Airbender fanfiction.net section.

    Kiss THIS! by Jakia -- Zuko/Katara kisses drabbles. Fave chapters: 8, 12, 25, 31, 33, 50, 52, 55, 59!!, 66, 69. Found at the Avatar, the Last Airbender fanfiction.net section.

    Lotus Resiliens by Misora -- WIP; post-The Day of Black Sun. In the wake of new discoveries, friendships are built and some trust is repaired...but not all of it. Good start. Found at the Avatar, the Last Airbender fanfiction.net section.

    The Moon And The Sun by Rashaka -- Zuko/Katara drabbles. Fave chapters: 12, 17, 21, 24. Found at the Avatar, the Last Airbender fanfiction.net section.

    Ozai's Vengeance by Fandomme -- WIP. Twelve years after the final battle, Zuko summons Katara to heal the victims of an epidemic spreading throughout the Fire Nation. Very nicely written. Found at the Avatar, the Last Airbender fanfiction.net section.

    Parts of a Whole by MacFie -- Five years after victory old friends reunite for a coronation, a surprise courtship and a celebration of a life well lived. Very nicely-written and nicely long "post-war" story. Good Zuko/Katara friendship/relationship and some interesting OCs which I typically don't like. Good stuff. See also sequel-in-progress, Clasp.     Rain by Rashaka -- Zuko/Katara. Everything comes apart in the rain. Wonderful short little angsty romance fic. FFound at the Avatar, the Last Airbender fanfiction.net section.

    Rhythm of the Rain by DamageCtrl -- Zuko/Katara. Rebuilding a nation requires sacrifices. Knowing that the Fire Nation would never accept a Waterbender as its Lord's wife, Katara removes herself from her fledgling romance with Zuko and encourages him to find greatness with Fire Nation noble Mai.     Shore by LavenderSkies -- Takes place after the season 2 finale. By orders of Fire Lord Ozai, Iroh is to be beheaded. Determined to return the favor, Aang is prepared to rescue. But what will Zuko do? This is a story about the banished prince trying to find his way. Excellent. Good characterization. Found at the Avatar, the Last Airbender fanfiction.net section.

    Whose Hearts Are Mountains by Rashaka -- Zuko and Katara come together one warm afternoon under circumstances not made for ancient Water ballads or great Fire tales: they meet in a ventilation duct. Very nicely written. Rated M for mature. Found at FicHaven.org.


    Code Lyoko

    A current French-translated-into-English cartoon that has caught my attention during reruns. By the end of first season, I was hooked and watched second season as it aired and am now eagerly awaiting third season. Entertaining, I think, with some good characters. And, as one would expect of me, I immediately glommed onto the hinted at Ulrich/Yumi pairing; my current most favorite romantic couple of all the shows I watch. Plus, you know, I have a thing for guys with swords. ~grin~ (Especially the wowza sword battle scene in season two's Revelation!) I've read a good number of fanfics for this show, but have had a tough time finding ones I want to recommend. The show itself is very good, especially this year. Though the tease with the Ulrich/Yumi will-they-won't-they may drive me insane. ~grin~ And William? Besides his interference in the U/Y dynamic, that sword he ended up with was just ridiculous (over-compensation much?), so I wasn't displaced in the slightest at what happened to him. My main quibble with most fanfics written in the cartoon and anime sections is that so many have authors' notes just jammed in all over in the fics themselves. Very annoying.

    Always by Mystic Dragon -- Odd and Ulrich see something unbelievable...Yumi and William kissing? Ulrich gets depressed and morale for the team takes a dive. When a tower is activated with no attack to the real world, it's Lyoko that becomes a walking deathtrap. Found at the Code Lyoko fanfiction.net section.

    Cold Snap by Mystic Dragon -- Ulrich/Yumi. When Ulrich, who never gets sick, comes down with the flu after practicing his soccer off-season, is it just bad luck or is everyone's favorite virus up to something? When the others are in danger, can Ulrich save them despite his condition? One part; reads pretty much like an episode; good. Found at the Code Lyoko fanfiction.net section.

    Le Premier Semaine à Kadic by Fudge 1 -- Seven days, three students, one school. When the Loner, Geek, and Soccer Prodigy team up, what hope has anyone else got? Great pre-series fic. I hope to see more from this author. Found at the Code Lyoko fanfiction.net section.

    Notes on a Piano by Mewberries -- Ulrich's a little bummed over a recent letter from his parents. A trip down to the school's art wing and the discovery of a piano sends Ulrich on a trip down memory lane. Nicely written one-shot between Ulrich and Yumi.     Odd One Out by mirielle -- After a teammate's death, the teens need help. At the moment of most strife, Sissi comes sniffing around the factory. Fairly good with some good twists and some lovely U/Y stuff to boot. Found at the Code Lyoko fanfiction.net section.

    Revision by Artemis of the Ice -- Ulrich/Yumi. She's the oldest and most mature. Still, Yumi's got the typical teenage problems, no matter how intuitive she may be. Takes place after season one's Teddygozilla. Fluff but good in-character fluff. Found at the Code Lyoko fanfiction.net section.

    Trapped by Mystic Dragon -- An innocent field trip to visit a mine turns into a deadly race against time as Jeremie, Aelita, Yumi, and Ulrich are trapped in a caved in section. With injuries and waning heat, will they survive long enough to be saved? Found at the Code Lyoko fanfiction.net section.

    The Weak Link by Tellemicus Sundance -- Ulrich has left the country for two months and no one knows where he is or why he left, but the gang still resists Xana. But when he suddenly returns, the gang must deal with the drastic changes that have occurred and outwit Xana's most cunning scheme yet. See also sequel/prequel, The Soul of a Warrior. Interesting.     Danny Phantom

    A Nickelodeon cartoon I came across one day and found rather enjoyable. Plus, you know, secret teenage superhero...definitely something to catch my attention. The fanfic is...variable and a great deal of it is unfinished (and probably never will be finished.). As one would expect, I lean toward Danny/Sam; though since they're only supposed to be 14, I prefer the "blushies" and tentative kisses over anything more...er, advanced. Though I have come across fics that are supposed to happen a few years in the future which push things a bit further.

    Favorite episodes (by season): (1) Fanning the Flames, Public Enemies, Maternal Instinct, Control Freaks; (2) Memory Blank, Reign Storm, The Ultimate Enemy, The Fenton Menace, Flirting With Disaster, Beauty Marked, Reality Trip; (3) Girls' Night Out; Phantom Planet.

    Changes by Silithos the Chosen -- WIP. In the aftermath of both Reign Storm and The Ultimate Enemy, Danny finds that changes are coming, and he's not sure if he likes them. Intriguing beginning. Found at the Danny Phantom fanfiction.net section.

    Cold as Ice by Saramis Kismet -- The rumor of a ghost kidnapping has Danny on his toes during a vacation to the mountains, as does Sam's recent experiences... that are bothering him? Will Danny be able to save the victims before they're buried alive by the cold? Good story. See also the prequel-in-progress, Never Good Enough. Found at the Danny Phantom fanfiction.net section.

    During the Night by Hearts of Eternity -- Sam is supposedly alone in her room when a breeze comes in to join to join her. It turns out to be not who she expects, but everything turns out in the end. Good read with adventure and fluff. Found at the Danny Phantom fanfiction.net section.

    Eagleheart by Faith's melody -- AU; WIP. King Damon has ignored the warnings about an attack on Amity. An attack instigated by Vlad Masters. The only resistance is a small group that believes in the impending war. A group that is led by an 18-year-old Danny Fenton. Interesting premise and a good start.     Echoes of the Night by BlackShadow875 -- WIP. A new enemy has emerged, with allies...and they are striking in a place where Danny can never expect...friends and family are in trouble, and for some reason, going ghost has become more difficult with these enemies around...     Elsewhere by Lateraina Wolf -- WIP. Danny's back from the army and things are slightly different, but that doesn't mean the same hero he's always been is gone. Good start with some lovely potential angst. Found at the Danny Phantom fanfiction.net section.

    Faith and Trust by Neko-Salosa -- Crossover with Teen Titans. Danny parents go to a ghost hunter's convention in Jump City dragging Danny and Jazz with them. Unfortunately for Danny, Jump City is being attacked with ghost-reinforced weaponry. Can he help the Titans or will he just be in the way?     Frights, Cameras, Action! by WingsOfMorphius -- WIP. If Danny's normal troubles aren't enough, Suddenly movie cameras are all over Amity looking for the infamous Ghost Boy. Can Danny's identity stay secret with all eyes on him? Promising. Found at the Danny Phantom fanfiction.net section.

    Insight View by Lateraina Wolf -- WIP. Danny's secret is finally out when Dash, Valerie, and Paulina catch his transformation on tape. Interesting start.     Kryptonite by Lateraina Wolf -- WIP. Walker invades Amity Park again. And while Danny gets a new power, he also gets a new weakness. Good set-up. Set after 'The Ultimate Enemy', so Danny knows that Jazz knows, which I like and haven't seen too much of yet. Found at the Danny Phantom fanfiction.net section.

    Links in the Chain by Lacey52 -- An exploration of the 'psychic connection' that Danny and Sam are famous for. Is it real, or was it all just a game? This is the explanation behind the label given to the pair, the whys, whens, and hows of their connection. Very intriguing and well-written with some interesting twists.     Oh, It's On by Guinivere Sage -- Sam is sick of the way Paulina treats her, and after one day at lunch, it's the last straw. She retaliates... BIG TIME. Entertaining. Found at the Danny Phantom fanfiction.net section.

    Ordinary World by Firestar9mm -- Jasmine Fenton is embarrassed by her family. But as she staggers under the strain of being the only normal Fenton, a term paper teaches her some interesting things about family, not just the ones we're born into, but the ones we make for ourselves.     Phantom's Sketchbook by AkoyaMizuno -- Mr. Lancer finds himself in an unparalleled situation, he has access to something which can give him incredable insight into the personal workings of Amity Park's local ghost teen hero, Danny Phantom.     Ten Things a Sweet Guy Would Do by Miss A. LaRosa -- When an email evokes Sam to say that no guy could do everything on that list, Danny strives to prove her wrong. Can he do it? Fluff. Found at the Danny Phantom fanfiction.net section.

    A Theory and a Promise by Princess Kielasandera -- Jack and Maddie Fenton have a theory about what is wrong with their son. Nice little family one-shot. Found at the Danny Phantom fanfiction.net section.

    DC Universe

    Fanfic set in the DC universe, though not necessarily the animated Justice League series, for which fanfics are listed a bit below. In the regular DC Universe (ie the comics or just plain continuity), I tend to like the Bat-family over all others, so the fic rec'd here will involve one or more of them in some fashion or other. I'm especially fond of stories that deal with (1) Robin III/Tim Drake as he is currently my very favorite DC character, (2) Robin and Superboy (aka Tim and Kon) friendship, (3) Nightwing and Robin friendship, (4) Batman and Robin/Nightwing's father/son relationship, and (5) those that touch on the romantic relationship between Batgirl/Oracle and Robin/Nightwing.       Apokalypsis: An Unremembered Death by TesubCalle -- Barbara Gordon/Oracle receives some cryptic messages that lead her to discover a seemingly impossible past Crisis. This is based on the comic book series, Crisis on Infinite Earths, something I've never actually read, but I've read about enough to know what happened and just who everyone is.       The Art of Going and Staying by fashi0n-mistake -- Kon remembers the original Kara Zor-El. Spoilers for Many Happy Returns and Infinite Crisis. Found at her livejournal.

      Children of Gotham by jen-in-japan -- Reporter Clark Kent comforts a kidnapped girl as they wait for Batman to rescue them. Nicely written. Found at her livejournal.

      Little Boy Lost by Dannell Lites -- The first meeting of the World's Finest! Interesting take on Bruce and Clark meeting as teeangers. Found at the Batman fanfiction.net section.

      Shift by Paxwolf -- Batman seems unaccountably angry at having his life saved by Superman. Is there more to his anger than even he realizes? A Friendship Fic; pre-Infinite Crisis. Found at the DC Superheroes fanfiction.net section.

      Stargazer by jen-in-japan -- Kon visits Lois and Clark in Metropolis. This is very nice, especially the tiny epilogue. I barely got to know Kon and then he was gone. :-( Found at her livejournal.

    Bruce & Dick (father/son; partnership; friendship)

      Broken by myrina -- After the death of Blockbuster, a guilt stricken Dick questions his place in the world. Can a distant but wellmeaning former mentor help guide him home? Although I don't read the Nightwing comic series, I know enough about the events that preceed this to understand what's going on. Found at the Nightwing fanfiction.net section.

      The Broken Circle by SahRae Hyjo -- WIP. Estranged from the world he once found familiar, Dick finds himself called back in at the worst possible time. The Bat has fallen. Can he find his place in time to make it right? Hmm...interesting with much potential angst-value. Found at the Nightwing fanfiction.net section.

      The Game by myrina -- WIP. After a long night patrolling, Dick returns home to find an unwelcome message. The young hero decides to view it as a challenge, however, and begins a sly game with his mentor. A very humorous story (from a generally angsty writer!) about Bruce and Dick. Excellent thus far.       Jealousy by SKH -- A grieving boy's anger and insecurity test his new guardian's resolve. Wonderful h/c one-shot between Bruce and Dick. Go read all this author's fic. Found at the Batman fanfiction.net section or Gotham City Fanfiction.

      • Needed -- A nine-year-old Dick Grayson struggles to prove his worth to his seemingly distant guardian - both masked and unmasked.
      • Revisited -- Ten-year-old Dick Grayson must confront his past while struggling to fill his role as a billionaire's ward and a hero's partner.
      • Tested -- WIP. Ten-year-old Dick Grayson is ready to fly as Robin but must first pass one final test. An unexpected appearance by a new foe, however, threatens to ground him for good.

      Only Words by myrina -- A flu stricken Bat learns a lot about his young ward through a simple game of Scrabble. Short, sweet, and awww-worthy. Found at the Batman fanfiction.net section.

      The Problems with Chocolate by Tatsuyuri -- Just how did Bruce and Dick cope in the first weeksmonths following the death of the Graysons? Very lovely Bruce & Dick piece set just a few months after Dick's parents' death; pre-Robin. Found at the Batman fanfiction.net section or at deviantART.

      Best Girl, First Girl, Only Girl by SKH -- A serious young hero's coming of age. Long well-written tale. Found at the Nightwing fanfiction.net section. There's also a follow-up, Auld Lang Syne by Sandra Miller, found at Birds of a Feather.

      I'll Never Let You Fall by Terri1 -- The night after she is shot by the Joker, Barbara Gordon gets a visitor in the hospital. Found at the Nightwing fanfiction.net section.

      The Night the Lights Went Out in Gotham by Constance Cochran -- DC Animated Universe. When a city-wide blackout throws Gotham into darkness and chaos, the bat-family find themselves taxed to the limit. For Nightwing, it is a chance to start mending some emotional bridges. Set after the end of animated The New Batman Adventures, and after her two previous stories, The Summer of Her Discontent and Thirteen Hours. Great story with the whole bat-family, emphasis on Batman&Nightwing friendship and Nightwing/Batgirl romance. Found at Birds of a Feather.

    Robin III (aka Tim Drake) / Teen Titans

      And Then There Were Two by Jimaine -- Cassie and Tim are the last of their generation. Post-Infinite Crisis. Starkly emotional. Very good. Found at the Teen Titans (comics) fanfiction.net section.

      Family Affairs by Liquid Engineer -- WIP; AU; post-Robin 125, pre-Identity Crisis. Tim has reclaimed Robin. When an old enemy discovers their identities, the Teen Titans attempt to protect those they hold dear. But can Tim lead his friends against a demon while clashing with his estranged father? While I only know about half the characters in this story, I'm still greatly enjoying it -- and waiting impatiently for the author to continue it! Very well-written.       Finding the Courage by Saturn Girl -- In the midst of the Infinite Crisis, Raven and Beast Boy share a quiet moment alone. Found at the Teen Titans (comics) fanfiction.net section.

      Heart, Humble by Brown Betty -- Back then, all the boys his age had hero-worshipped costumed vigilantes. Jack supposes they still do. Very lovely character piece, Tim-centric fic. Pre-Identity Crisis. Found at The Archive at the End of the Universe or at her livejournal.

      I Sing What Was Lost by Mara Greengrass -- "Hey, didja see Robin's new uniform." Set at beginning of One Year Later; post-Infinite Crisis. Written *way* before 52: Week 51 where the colors thing was confirmed. Very short and terribly angsty. Found at the Teen Titans (comics) fanfiction.net section.

      Laughter is the Best Medicine by RavishinglyRood -- His girlfriend died. And then his dad. Tim Drake is more shut off than usual. He pushes people away, and he never smiles. An old acquaintance of Batman's decides to help the boy, vowing to make Robin smile...even if it kills him. Good intense tale. Post-Identity Crisis, pre-Infinite Crisis.       Necessary to Remembrance by Mara Greengrass -- Tim reveals a secret to someone special. Set in the future in Robin comic current continuity. Short, sweet, very nice. Found at the Robin (comics) fanfiction.net section.

      A Night on the Town by Mara Greengrass -- When the Teen Titans hit Gotham for a night out, Tim wonders where he can get fitted for a straightjacket. Pretty much everything I know about the immediately prior Teen Titans team in the comics comes from fanfic I read, so I don't know much; however, I still enjoyed this very entertaining piece.       Stargate SG-1 Crossover by lyndseas -- There's a flash and Tim is...elsewhere. Short, intriguing, and in-character all-around. Found at her livejournal.

      Worth and Value by chevauchee -- Post-Teen Titans 29 interaction between Tim and Cass. "He would take it from you." Found at her livejournal.

      Comas by Mary -- Conner can see everything. Very lovely - and much preferred - AU ending to the Infinite Crisis arc.

      Conner and Tim by RavishinglyRood -- Robin and Superboy spend a week together, as Tim and Conner, as normal kids. However, they are anything but normal. There are so few Tim&Kon friendship stories out there (at least that I have found), so it's always nice to run across one. Set pre-Identity Crisis.       Fathers and Sons by etain anders -- WIP. AU. It's just another night in Gotham for Robin -- until someone new shows up. An interesting and thus far entertaining AU take on the Tim&Kon friendship. Found at the Young Justice fanfiction.net section.

      Friendly Visitors And Other Half-Truths by Amarin Rose -- Crossover with DC Animated Universe JLU. The majority of the JLU ends up in the Comicsverse. Robin’s rather different, and since when was there a Superboy? Cute and amusingly funny. Found at her livejournal.

      Touched by Mara Greengrass -- Where words fail, a simple touch may succeed. Tim & Kon friendship. Almost slashy, but could be read as fluffy friendship smarm. Found at JLA Unlimited or her site.

      The Boy, Wondering by Icon -- DC Animated Universe. Missing scene for the "flashback" part of Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker animated movie. Good Dick & Tim interaction. Found at the Batman fanfiction.net section.

      New Shoes by Super Chocolate Bear -- DC Animated Universe; set during JLU, season one. When Batgirl disappears, Flash comes to Gotham to help with the investigation. Nightwing doesn't appreciate it. Nice little tale with a different relationship (read: not friendship) between Wally (Flash) and Dick (Nightwing) than I've seen in mainstream fanfic, mostly because the DCAU Nightwing didn't become part of the League or meet Wally.       Otherwheres by Syl -- An unfinished DC Elseworlds pice. Four-year-old Barbara Gordon is left in the care of Dr. and Mrs. Wayne after being left orphaned.       Rebirth by Scribbler -- DC Animated Universe; post-Return of the Joker. "I'm always going to be Robin. You can't change that now, Bruce. You're too late." Angsty and in-charater for the series, though I didn't always agree with some of the DCAU choices (i.e., the Bruce/Babs pairing which is just *so* wrong ~shudder~).       Rest Us Here by Mara Greengrass -- Barbara Gordon and Ted Kord go out to dinner. What could possibly go wrong? I know pretty much nothing about Ted Kord (the most previous Blue Beetle) aside of his name, but I found this piece of fic amusing, as I do most of Mara's fic.       Robin Red Bird universe -- DC Animated Universe. A shared-universe series folliwng the events of the flashback in Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. I just found this site and found the tales within very entertaining.

      Securing the Foundations by Jacque Koh -- Nightwing must swiftly tie off loose ends and secure the foundations of his life before he can greet the start of a new era after the latest 'universal' Crisis is over.       When Urban Legends Collide by Amarin Rose -- DC Animated Universe; post-Buffy season seven. Buffy and Xander head to Gotham to help out AI with some of the evil lawyers - oh, and do some shopping. They run into Batman and his crew. Wackiness, of course, ensues. Hee.     He-Man

    I have always adored animation. Add in my love of heroes and well, there you have my still-indulged viewing of a variety of cartoons. I grew up on He-Man, She-Ra, Voltron, SuperFriends, etc. Nowadays, I'm still watching a few select cartoons like Justice League and the new He-Man on Cartoon Network. However, there is usually very little (IMO) decent fanfic to go along with said shows. Whether it's because of the age group writing it or just the genre itself, I don't know. But every now and again, something intriguing and good shows up (at least for He-Man, not so for She-Ra, a series which suffered IMO by way too many side characters).

    Recently I discovered a fanfic forum on He-Man.org that has some really great authors on it. However, to read the fanfic, you have to page through the forum itself as the site's fanfic archive isn't functioning. Regardless it's worth it to read some of the great stories being posted there. Look especially for catslyn and Eideann.

    Mind Games by Mandolin -- Teela makes a surprising discovery, and her first reaction isn't a happy one. Found at the He-man fanfiction.net section.

    Multiple Reflections by katt8 -- Prince Adam finds his many faces trapped in a quiet library window. Short but angsty and has depth. Found at the He-man fanfiction.net section.

    Noticing Adam by superfoxygirl -- WIP; based on classic cartoon. King Randor and Queen Marlena are worried because they feel like their son is keeping something from them. When Prince Adam is away from the palace and once again defends Castle Grayskull from Skeletor, Adam unknowingly confirms his parents' worries.     Revelations & Regrets by Eideann -- WIP. Three years have passed since Skeletor's forces broke free from the Mystic Wall ... not much has changed, except that everyone is three years older, and Adam has reached his breaking point.     Sacrifice and Service by catslyn -- WIP. How far will Randor go to save a life? How far will Skeletor go to stop the search for a cure that may not even exist?     Justice League

    As noted above, I grew up on a whole variety of "hero" cartoons, including SuperFriends. Although I missed most of the newer Superman and Batman cartoons on Cartoon Network, I've been watching Justice League pretty much from the beginning. And then I started hunting down fanfic, mostly because I started to become a Batman/Diana (aka BM/WW) shipper fan. ~grin~ Again, fanfic for cartoons is hard to find, much less finding well-written fanfic. However, I'm beginning to find more and more of the good stuff out there. I'm not as pleased with the recent two seasons with JL becoming Justice League Unlimited -- too many characters means less time for the characters I really like. ~sigh~ Ah, well, that's why there's fanfic.

    Heart of the Bat by TonyStarkakaIronMan -- WIP. AKA The New Adventures of Batgirl. The League is formed and Batgirl's life begins to change. Will it be for the better?     Imminent Domain by HeyBats -- Based on spoilers for the JLU season three episodes, The Once & Future Thing, complete with BMWW shippiness. Found at the Justice League fanfiction.net section.

    The Last Dance by Iron Raven -- Justice League's season two episode Hereafter told with a twist. Sometimes those who have lost the least take the hardest losses, and those who have lost everything find something in return. Great characterization and angst. Loved the inclusion of the BatClan, something I sorely miss in the JLU series. Found at the Justice League fanfiction.net section.

    Twelve Days by ChunkyMunky241 -- WIP. After such events as the Thanagarian invasion, the Cadmus project, and the near disbanding of the League, can the original seven ever hope to return to the times of Comfort and Joy?     Teen Titans

    I knew very little about the Teen Titans, comics or cartoon, when I started catching the series occasionally on the Cartoon Network during its daily reruns. Again, at first I wasn't sure since there are some anime characteristics included I'm not particularly fond of, but all-in-all, I find it a fairly entertaining show. The big obvious pairing on the series is Robin/Starfire, especially since that pairing happens in the comics with Robin (Dick Grayson) and Starfire (Koriander). (As for who Robin is on the series, the more I learn about the comics version of Tim Drake, the more I'm leaning towards Tim being Robin on TT...he's just so serious!) However, my favorite character is Raven who I've discovered over time and internet surfing is more often than not paired with Beast Boy. While he's not really a character I like a lot (too much comic relief isn't always a good thing), the pairing of "broody" and "not-broody" is a common theme which I'm attracted to. Good readable fanfic for fandom and for this couple is very, very hard to come by, IMO; or at least it is for the level I prefer to read at.

    Five Stories by ShinobiCyrus -- The Greatest Stories Never Told. Short, cute little tales that fit in well with the series. Found at the Teen Titans (cartoon) fanfiction.net section.

    One Which Makes The Heart Run Over by GuardianSaiyoko -- BBRae. WIP. There's something very wrong with Beast Boy and it's up to Raven, who has been reluctantly appointed team therapist, to find out what. Very good thus far. Found at the Teen Titans (cartoon) fanfiction.net section.
